In reality, this story does not make almost any sense but it is still funny.

According to the book Revolver-The Secret History of The Beatles, Jim Morrison wrote a letter to John Lennon in 1969, proposing that the Beatles and the Doors come together to form a single band. Lennon threw the letter in the trash and described Morrison as a smug drunk, adding that he had never managed to listen to half a Doors album.

The press must have assumed that just because he went to the studio and worked, it meant he felt fine. It was just the opposite. He went in and worked to get his mind off the shock and grief.

Seems to me he's having a bit of a thing processing. when my brother died(my best friend) I was numb. Nothing inside. I might have said "bummer, bit of a drag, etc" but I was really so devastated, all feeling had fled. I'd have told them,were I there, give the guy time to process... To feel again..... It's either something like that or maybe he can't say what his feelings really are as they would be unacceptable to others.... And in any case it's nobody's business........

The Beatles were inspired by the correct influences - Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Elvis, etc. - basically blues in high gear - rockabilly, rock and Roll. If that's not Rock and Roll, then what is? They COVERED that music, but their soul was british - cold, awkward cover artists, at first. Their first original tunes were geared for children. Eventually, they matured.
